Our Epiphany, Lent, & Holy Week Daily Prayer Guide theme is “Good News”, and it will run from January 5 – April 11. Join us as we read through the Gospel of Luke and pray together.
The word “epiphany” comes from a Greek word meaning “disclosure or unveiling,” and it was used in the ancient world to designate an official visit of a king or emperor to a city of his realm. So, in the tradition of the church calendar, the season of Epiphany is a celebration of Jesus’ manifestation to the world as Savior and King. This year, Epiphany begins on Monday, January 6th, which is twelve days after Christmas Day, and it continues until the season of Lent, which begins on Wednesday, February 26th. This spring, our Prayer Guide will follow the story of Jesus through the Gospel of Luke. Our readings will continue in Luke through the seasons of Epiphany, Lent, and Holy Week as we trace the good news of Jesus’ birth, ministry, and passion. Through each of these seasons, we will discover afresh the many facets and layers of how Jesus’ coming to us reorients our lives around Him. May God bless you in this season of Epiphany, causing you to remember and celebrate the good news of Jesus Christ, our promised Savior and glorious King.
