Care

Mercy Ministries

The PCPC Diaconate oversees two mercy ministries designed to meet the spiritual and physical needs of individuals in our community.

Good Samaritan Ministry

The Good Samaritan Ministry (Good Sam) exists to fulfill the command of Christ to love your neighbor as yourself. Good Sam pursues this calling by ministering to neighbors outside our church body with financial and material assistance to demonstrate and proclaim the Gospel. Good Sam ministers to those neighbors who come to us in a crisis by praying with them, providing financial assistance, and pointing them to other resources. These neighbors are individuals outside the PCPC body referred to us by City Missions Ministry Partners or PCPC members.

Would you like to help? The Good Samaritan Ministry is a way you can be the hands and feet of Christ, reaching out to those in need. For more information or to volunteer for the Good Samaritan Committee, please contact Jessica Fikkert below.

Faith & Finances

Faith & Finances (developed by Chalmers) is a financial education ministry that equips low-income individuals with practical money management skills, biblical principles of stewardship, and supportive relationships.

Unlike many financial programs, Faith & Finances isn’t focused on wealth or material success. Its goal is restoration—in finances and in relationships. Through a 10-week class, participants explore how Jesus is reconciling all things, including their money, and how God can use their finances for His work. They also learn to track income and expenses, save, plan for emergencies, and pay off debt, while receiving encouragement from allies who walk alongside them.
